Coronavirus Dolomiti Superski Season closure.

In Val di Fassa, as well as in the other destinations in Trentino and in the Dolomiti Superski , the lifts and the slopes close in advance, with sense of responsibility, to preserve the public health and to comply with the rules of the ministerial Decree In Val di Fassa, as well as in all the Trentino and Dolomiti Superski destinations, the alpine skiing season ends on March 10th (last opening day of lifts and slopes). Due to the medical emergency caused by the "Coronavirus – Covid 19" which is affecting Italy, on March 9th, following an extraordinary council meeting, the Province of Trento chose to close all the mountain lifts in order to ensure the strengthening of the measures to contain the infection, after the first actions taken to prevent the concentration of people and the non-observation of the ministerial decree of March 8th. The decision has been taken in the past few hours, in agreement with the Province of Bolzano, the Province of Belluno, as well as the lift companies of the biggest ski resort in Europe, of which Val di Fassa is part.

The Dolomiti Superski, with its ski areas, takes responsibility and adapts to the emergency and to the decisions of the authorities. The goal is clearly preserving the health and the tranquillity of those who live in these territories, those who work here and are here on holiday. “We are extremely sorry – says Dolomiti Superski in its press release – to be obliged to take this exceptional decision, but we believe that this is a fundamental step to contain as much as possible the rapid spread of the Coronavirus even in our territories, which have such a high tourism density. We want to thank all the skiers that have been in our ski areas during this season, wishing to welcome them soon as appreciated guests in the Dolomites”.

Our sincere wish is, once overcome the medical emergency in the country, to find as soon as possible in our valley the mountain enthusiasts who love hiking, cycling and the Ladin traditions.
